The Sammy

Introducing “The Sammy”. The Sammie is a Keto version of a Winnipeg famous cookie bottom cake 😉. This version is our vanilla cake on top a sugar cookie, filled and iced with a slightly less sweet vanilla buttercream then decorated with dark chocolate shavings and piping.

Moving Forward

Wonder what comes next for “us”?

Well Amanda’s official last day in the kitchen was today, we have a few things to take care of but essentially it’s just me now. I plan to keep on keep’n on and providing all of you with the best possible Keto treats that I can.

From time to time orders might take a little longer to finish up, I might only have one pick up date a week but take orders for several days. The only thing that I know for sure is that I’m not going anywhere! I’ll keep everyone posted on baking days and menu changes. Hopefully you won’t notice much change on your end of this crazy little business!!

BBQ Season

With BBQ season upon us I have began to REALLY crave some of my all time fave foods!!! It’s been really hard to pass up Potato Salad, Chips (which I’m not even a HUGE fan of), creamy fruit salads, baked potatoes… sigh the list is long! I feel like when we go away on holidays to the cabin this year we may indulge in some of these delish faves but maybe not.

What do you struggle with this time of year? Do you plan on “cheating”?
While trying to stay Keto over the summer we knew we’d have to come up with something BIG and I think we did it! We’ve finally perfected the Hamburger bun!!! It’s not an exact replica of a wheat flour based bread but man it’s good!! I can’t wait to share these with you guys and develop them into Hotdog buns! Think of the Burgers, Chicken Burgers, Sandwiches… so many things can be done with these buns!! You can also pair our BBQ sauce with it for an ultimate low carb treat!!

Now is we could just conquer a not potato salad that isn’t cauliflower LOL.

What Kind Are You?

So I thought I would write something a little more personal today :). I started my Keto Journey on February 22nd 2019 after coming home from shooting Amanda’s destination wedding. While we were away I felt great but almost as soon as we got home I started to feel terrible, nauseous, bloated, exhausted and the list goes on… the only thing that had changed was how I was eating!! While we were away I didn’t eat many desserts or breads but lived on fresh fruits, eggs and other proteins. After looking at what I had been eating my research of Keto began and I fell down a rabbit hole of of facts for correct and incorrect (lol), finally I made the choice I needed to make and changed the way my husband and myself were going to eat. Fast forward to today and we are down 50 pounds combined and feeling SO much better then we were! I can’t image continuing to live my life as a slave to sugars and carbs! We started off being strict Keto but have now fallen into dirty and lazy ket, for us that’s okay! No matter what you chose to be as long as you’re feeling better and getting what you need from this lifestyle then more power to you. May Long Weekend

It’s been a rather quiet weekend on our social media page BUT check out what we’ve been working on!! Amanda’s littles had a birthday party so we made Keto cakes for EVERYONE and they were definitely loved and devoured!! ** there’s a tiny bit of sugar in the colouring that was used for the icing**
